Fajardo Region
Located on the coastline of the Atlantic Ocean in the east of Puerto Rico, Fajardo is home to Puerto del Rey, the largest marina in the Caribbean, and is therefore the hub of recreational boating in the area, as well as being the launching point for trips to Culebra and Vieques.
With its many beautiful beaches Fajardo offers visitors all types of water sport, with snorkeling and scuba diving in the clear, calm waters being very popular. Nature lovers will enjoy the unique ecological systems of Las Cabezas. Boasting some magnificent rivers and a forest running along its coastline, Ceiba is a delight to those who appreciate the wonders of nature. The island of Culebra located around 17 miles off the cost of the mainland has beautiful beaches and enjoys a mild climate for most of the year, making it popular with water sport and outdoor enthusiasts. The city of Guayama has a number of interesting attractions, including the Luis Pales Matos Statue, the Vives Mill and Carite Lake.
The little fishing village of Las Croabas welcomes visitors to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere as well as the natural wonders of the nearby Las Cabezas de San Juan. Rio Grande offers golfers some of the best golfing in Puerto Rico, while the nearby El Yunque and Caribbean Natural Forest offer hikers some unforgettable terrain, flora and fauna. Located close to the majestic Cayey Mountain Range, San Lorenzo is noted for its friendly people and interesting attractions, including the Priscilla Flores Theater, the Quintana Ranch and the Rio Grande de Loiza.
